A small exercise in seeing everyday design differently

This sample story demonstrates the shared Arbitrage theme. Replace it with your own reporting before publishing to a real domain.

Start with something familiar

Choose a mug, a door handle, or a notebook that you use regularly. Set it somewhere you can see it clearly. What do you notice before you pick it up?

Look at one detail

Focus on the handle, edge, or surface. Describe what you can see and feel. You do not need to guess what its designer intended. Your own observation is the starting point.

Make a comparison

Find another version of the same object. Place them side by side. Which differences change how you use them? A short note or a photograph can help you capture the comparison.

Keep a little collection

Save your notes somewhere you can revisit. Over time, you will have a personal collection of details worth paying attention to.
